courses offered: Comprehensive and Mat Work
This program provides thorough, comprehensive education in Pilates covering the full range of Pilates equipment (Mat, Reformer, Cadillac/Trap Table, Wunda/Combo Chair, Ped-a-pul, Ladder Barrel, Step Barrel/Spine Corrector and various other Auxiliary apparatus). It is a complete and intensive college-level program and provides a solid foundation for teaching, as students become well-versed in all facets of Pilates. The course also includes instruction on the BASI™ "Block System™ which is a comprehensive programming and teaching methodology, and on the science of human movement, anatomy and physiology.

B. Mat Work Teacher Training Course

Pilates Instruction Pilates Education & Pilates Instruction
Body Arts and Science International was founded by Rael Isacowitz, M.A. He has designed and developed a program integrating the art and the science of human movement. He has used his understanding of human physiology and movement and his skill in the complex teachings of Joseph Pilates to offer a contemporary approach to Pilates instruction. If you are interested in obtaining a unique and artfully developed Pilates education, you must consider Body Arts and Science International first. The courses we teach worldwide offer first of all a fundamental background in anatomy, physiology and the theories of movement developed by Rael Isacowitz. But moreover, our instructors give a complete and thorough Pilates education, giving you an understanding of the Pilates exercises as well as the responsibility for the correct and appropriate application of these techniques. These are the goals our instructors have reached, and will help you reach. The encompassing Pilates instruction offered throughout various locations worldwide is an educational vehicle. Our instruction in Pilates upholds the highest standards of the methods and research of Joseph Pilates. We can teach you the same essence of the philosophy he began teaching over 70 years ago. Pilates Certification by BASI™ at NYSY Studios
Thank you for your interest in our Pilates Teacher Training Course. We at NYSY Studios have formed an alliance with BASI (Body Arts and Science International) of California to offer one of the best Pilates Training program for teachers available. Obtaining your certification through this program will mean that you are one of the best qualified instructors not just in Greece but anywhere around the world. We believe that a Pilates instructor needs more than just a paper certification. We will fully instruct you for up to 6 months so that you as an individual are confident and certified to instruct others for the rest of your life. You will need to do a lot more work after the lectures, that’s why NYSY Studios is prepared to offer you a wide array of classes, mentorship, and instruction, so you can possess a comprehensive and inclusive understanding of Pilates exercise. Be prepared to work hard in the next few months or one or two years, and to spend a minimum of 500 hours at NYSY Studios. When you are finished, you will have more than just Pilates Certification, you will have a college level education! To help you plan your time, set your goal for finishing your requirements within a specified time. If you want to obtain your certification in one year, you need to spend 13-15 hours a week doing Pilates. For example, you will need to do: Class observation 3hours/week or 12hours/mongth Class attendance 3 hours/week or 12 hours/month Self-practice 3 hours/week or 12 hours/month Assisting & teaching 6 hours/week or 24 hours/month
You can increase or decrease those hours according to your schedule.
A. The Comprehensive Teacher Training Course…

Certification requirements:
Minimum hours required for diploma 500 hours
B. Mat Work…
The Mat Work Teacher Training Course is considered the “crown jewel” of Pilates. It is the essence of the system, without which a great void would exist. The MWTTC provides a thorough education in the Mat Work and its infinite applications. In addition to being the foundation on which all else is based, it is also the perfect springboard to the CTTC.
Total hours for diploma 130 hours
These hours should be preferably completed at NYSY Studios. If you do not live in Athens, you can make other arrangements with Vivi Letsou.
Students must keep a log of all their hours and have it reviewed by NYSY Studios first, before sending it to BASI through the BASI website.
