Karma Yoga With Jonni-Lyn & Dimitra
Last August’s fires destroyed the forest surrounding my parents’ house, along with the remaining Attica forest and we felt we could not celebrate our wedding there without addressing the fires. We chose Philodasiki as the charity to collect donations from our guests instead of wedding gifts and were very touched by people’s generosity. The charity will organize a date for reforestation using the funds we have collected that we are all invited to participate in. The fires in Attica affect all of us living in the city and in the past I have attended the protests against the fires and the lack of government action. However, I feel that, as often is the case in Greece, if we don’t take initiative and act of our own accord we rarely see results.
