Anusara at NYSY
WHAT IS ANUSARA YOGA®
Anusara (a-nu-sar-a), means “flowing with Grace,” “going with the flow,” “following your heart.”
John Friend coming to Greece, July 16 to 17, 2011
Founded by John Friend in 1997, Anusara Yoga is a powerful hatha yoga system that unifies a Tantric philosophy of intrinsic Goodness with Universal Principles of Alignment™.
Anusara’s life-affirming vision encourages all people to discover the intrinsic goodness and creativity within themselves, providing the opportunity for a wonderfully transformational experience to unfold.
The Universal Principles of Alignment™ offer a way to align the body correctly, thus bringing strength and therapy where needed. Thousands of people have found healing from back pain, shoulder, knee, neck and all kinds of issues that may have bothered them for years. As John Friend likes to say: “Good alignment is good therapy”. By aligning the body correctly, we bring not only physical healing, but a deeper emotional release. Thus we open the door to a higher freedom of our spirit and heart.
The highest intention of practicing Anusara Yoga is to align with the Divine. As we deepen our alignment with the Supreme, we step deeper into the flow of Grace. It is through the revelatory power of Grace that we awaken to the truth that this Divine flow is our essential nature.
Currently, Anusara Yoga is one of the most popular and fastest growing yoga styles in the world with over 1200 affiliated teachers and 100,000 students world-wide.
